He crystallized his models and set them in atmospheres of light. In these settings their facial landscapes became dramatic interplays between light and shadow. Karsh will continue to remembered for his courage, industriousness, single-mindedness, intuition, and high standards of quality maintained in his work for over sixty years, which helped him express his faith in humanity.
