The chapter out of Susan Sontag's book "On Photography" writes on interesting points of photographic images in our society. She writes, "Humankind lingers unregenerately in Plato's Cave, still reveling, its age-old habit, in mere images of the truth." (p. 3) With these words she is stating the importance and the effects that photographs have on the images in our world. The truths in which they reveal are remnants of what we perceive as truth. With the onset of virtual reality and cyberspace there is more of a worry that images will claim even more of our experience than the do today. We must learn to use images to their fullest t by exploring their limits but keeping in mind that they don't replace experience or replicate the actual truth of the image that is duplicated.
