Rasputin ended up becoming a close friend of the czars and Alexei's personal doctor. Soon Rasputin was assassinated though and soon after a plot was set out to kill Alexei and his entire family. The plot to kill him and his family occurred on July 17, 1918. It was on that day that Alexei was murdered by order of the Bolsheviks.
