in society and I imagine it's easy for them to forget this. If a person goes there entire professional life unchallenged, then it's easy to loose sight of a modest attitude. It's true that a critic of science can see the social effect of a certain claim or discovery, but to truly understand where the claim or discovery is coming from, the critic must consider the scientist as a human as well as an intellectual.
