On one occasion during his personal ministry, Jesus had slipped away from the crowd and gone out to a solitary place to pray. He did that quite often in order to be alone with God. Sometimes he would climb up the side of a mountain and pray. Sometimes he would arise early and go out into the desert and pray. On other occasions, he went into a garden such as Gethsemane

God does not set aside his will to answer our prayers. For example, we are told in Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." We cannot pray for God to save us if we have not obeyed him in baptism. The new birth does not take place by prayer. Jesus said that we are born again by water and the spirit (John 3:5). Prayer is a privilege given to the children of God.
