As most individuals in Canada, my family immigrated to this great country not long ago. My family origins in Canada as well as the rest of North America start in the early 1950's after World War 2 and the holocaust. All of my fathers family that remains had survived the Nazi's in Europe and their concentration camps. They all came to North America in search of a better life that is free of anti

were made to be more lenient on these policies. This was a land of freedom, which gave the image that there was no anti-Semitism and Jews and any other minority could live with no fear of persecution. This, for the most part, is what North America was. There was very much the opportunity for jobs and raising families. The USA and Canada represented democracy and this made a great home for those who needed it.
