Although California lacks warm water, which is important to some surfers, it has better waves, a longer consistent season, more competition, and is less expensive than Florida. So, overall, if you were a pro surfer looking for a place to train and had to pick between California and Florida, looking at these six criteria, California would be a better place to rise to a higher level of surfing.
