what affect social stratification but in fact are what make up social stratification. Moreover, social stratification is based on one's wealth. Most people who are wealthy donate large sums of money to charitable causes. Most often this is made convenient by the government for taxation reasons. Society holds high prestige to people who make these sorts of donations. I thought it important to more thoroughly explain how prestige was acquired through wealth.
