Sickle Cell Anemia
Sickle cell anemia or disease is a type of blood disorder that is passed on genetically, from parent to child. When one is born with sickle cell it will not leave and one cannot grow out of it. The disease is hereditary and one cannot contract it from someone that has it.

It prevents sickling in blood cells even more than Hb A. But the cure lies in gene therapy. This would transport "good" genes to people with the sickle cell gene and replace it. This process would cure the disease for a lifetime.
