The reason that people study history today is to better grasp they way in which people lived in the past and furthermore the impact that these events have on contemporary society today. Thus in the final summation, the lessons learned this semester have been invaluable and have served to give me a better understanding of the reasons and roots of tensions between different countries, ethnicities and religions.
