Some stranger knows your shoe size, your shirt size, what you're interested in, where you live, and even your social security number. Sounds a bit like something out of Orwell's 1984. Seem a bit far off? Not really. President Bush approved the Patriot Act in October of 2001 that allows individuals to have access to this kind of information. Information made available through our ever improving technology. Technology that has become a part of our daily lives.

country and it's citizens from terrorist threats is a vital and difficult task that the government must assume. With the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11th not too long ago, it is perfectly logical to do everything the government possibly can to prevent such tragedies from happening again. But we must also take into consideration that it is not humanly possible to catch every criminal and terrorist before it's too late.
