The eighth amendment gives Americans protection from cruel and unusual punishment, but sometimes society tends to be cruel and unusual. In my opinion, much of the separation is caused by the ways in which we have grown up. We are greatly affected by the type of environment and people that have surrounded us. In order to break down this barrier we all need to come together as a whole.
