Maslow's theory is so influential because of the profound level of logic he possessed. People can understand the point of Maslow's theory because it describes the realities of their own personal experiences. Maslow developed the Hierarchy of Needs theory fifty years ago and remains valid today for understanding instincts, needs, and development. His theories, seen everyday are becoming more and more profound. He and many others have concluded that this theory, in fact was everyone's path uphill struggle to achieve self- actualization. "If you plan on being anything less than you are capable of being, you will probably be unhappy all the days of your life." (maslow 1)
