Overall Mao Zedong's communist ruling was a failure. His attempts to improve China only mad things worse for its people. After 1976 other member of the Chinese Communist Party like Zhou Enlai began to restore order to the country. Mao's ruling was a bad time for China and it was only right for him to step down.
