Jainism is one of the oldest known religions in the world today and is very closely related to Hinduism. One difference from Hinduism however, would be the way that the Vedas are interpreted. Jainism is a non-vedic religion with a universal message of non-violence, although its views on karma and sansara are the same as that of Hinduism.

achieve anything worth mentioning. This would probably be best explained by the fact that most Jains are not able to carry out all the restrictions imposed by their religion. Yes, there are certain compulsory duties that are practiced by householders like living in clean homes, being vegetarian, and not using any product that is tested on animals. I suppose that these restrictions are obviously much easier to follow, especially living in the world we do.
