which in return he would send to his family who would use that money to immigrate themselves to America. Sadly though, most families came to find the person that sent them the money was already long gone due to the war. The Irish were at the fore-front of the civil war where casualties are the highest, and it should deepen your respect for the Irish even more, knowing they fought for this country as well.
