My favorite teacher was Janet D. in elementary school. Her classroom consisted of dark green wa1ls, brown hardwood floors, wooden chairs and alphabet letters around the room. There were pictures of presidents hanging on the walls. I can still remember the smell of chalk, pencils and erasers. student with dreadlocks. I said to myself, this kid probably likes rap music. We spoke for a while and much to my surprise he loves Country and Rock n Roll music. These children reminded me what it was like to be a kid. They also gave me a gift about hope, love, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. My soul has been touched by elementary students that are not aware of the gifts they posses.
