In non-liturgical churches the surroundings are much less important than in traditional churches. They believe that too much decoration distracts them, rather than inspires them. They mostly do not have so many symbols to remind them of God and the Christian beliefs, and feel that the word of God is the most important thing, and through it they are reminded of who and why they are worshipping.
