1.1 Personal critique
Pygmalion" describes the story of a common flower girl, who is taught a correct pronunciation and within a short time she acquires an upper-class accent which even the specialists take for genuine, so that she is fully accepted in upper-class circles. It is not only a story about the personal development of Eliza but Shaw shows phonetics as holding the key to social advancement and not only for Eliza but for everybody.

made me imagine a society in which the social status is achieved by nothing but personality.
In my opinion Pygmalion is a good play, because it is entertaining and exiting and it made me think about the social situation in the society in which I live today.
This is a reason for me to judge it as a good book, since it was not only entertaining but it made you think about yourself as well.
