Buddhism and Hinduism have differences in their positions on the self and desires. In light of Buddhism and Hinduism's positions on self and desires, I would rather follow Hinduism. In Hinduism, the place that we are striving for is Brahman. In Buddhism, the place that we are striving for is Buddha-nature. However, these are not the same thing they are only structurally parallel. They both represent our deepest potential in their respective traditions. Also Brahman

the new egos of atman. I find it difficult to believe that there is no self and that there is only changing conditioned states. I really believe that once worldly success and sense pleasures are found out to be unsatisfactory by the atman, liberation is grasped. Without the pursuit of desires, liberation would not and could not be grasped. In light of Buddhism and Hinduism's positions on self and desires, I would rather follow Hinduism.
