There are many plots in this play, like Nora's decision to join a play, Stanley's many money and job problems, and Jack's ongoing heart problems. Perhaps the main plot in this play is the families' struggles to support eachother. We see many problems that threaten the families' stability. They soon find that the only way to survive through these hard times is to stick together and work their problems out as one.
