see Toni put much thought into all of her characters. To make such discreet similarties to bible characters takes much skill and time. The bulk of characters and religious imagery used makes religious imagery the most important from in this novel. These ideas can all be discussed but it is all to obvious that much more is known only by Toni Morrison herself. Maybe this is her way of paralleling herself to the all-knowing God.
