In "The Great Gatsby", the author, F. Scott Fitzgerald, sort of plays around with the time of the story. In the beginning of Chapter Six, Nick tells the reader about Gatsby's past and how he had changed his name. "James Gatz--that was really, or at least legally, his name. " 'We haven't met for many years,' said Daisy, her voice as matter-of-fact as it could ever be." (92) This was sort of a reunion for the two of them after almost five years. Gatsby and Daisy were there, talking and recollecting memories from their past, together.
