The Cost of Discipleship
Before Bonhoeffer could challenge his readers, he had to convince them to "get on his bandwagon". He begins by writing about grace. Bonhoeffer categorizes grace into two groups: one is cheap grace and the other is costly grace. but is everything I do a testament to that? If it isn't, it should be.
As I said above, Bonhoeffer's book was very challenging. It wasn't fun finding out things that I need to change in my life, but I don't think that chastisement is supposed to be fun. I know that I will be better for the changes that I must make, and that makes the temporary shame worth it all in the end.
